Evaporative Cooling: The Water-Soaked Towel for Your Space

Have you ever tried putting a cool, water-soaked towel over your face?  This works wonders for heat relief.  This is a great thing to do when the weather is searing hot.  This seems like an innocent and simple act.  But this is actually in inspiration of one of the most affordable, efficient, energy-saving and environment-friendly cooling systems available in the market today.  This wet towel habit is the inspiration for evaporative cooling.

What is evaporative cooling?

Evaporative Coolers are cooling system that employs the exact same concept of the wet towel habit.  Cooling with an evaporative cooler is chemical-free and 100% natural, using only two of nature’s oldest agents: Water and wind.  Like a soaked towel, an evaporative cooler uses water pads, soaked in cool water.  These in turn are air blown to project cool water vapor into the surrounding area.  This improves the temperature of an area greatly, making it more comfortable to settle into.  There are evaporative cooling systems that don’t require direct water and ventilation contact.  These are called indirect coolers.  These use heat exchangers which pass on the cold to the blowing air indirectly.

This type of cooling system has so many advantages.  One advantage is that it is affordable.  Since its system is not as complicated as traditional air conditioning systems, these are relatively cheaper.  Also, these systems work very efficiently are as effective as traditional air conditioning systems.  Third, these systems are very energy efficient.  They consume more or less a quarter of what a regular air con system consumes in energy.  Lastly, it is environment-friendly.  These do not use any refrigerants in the water cooling process, making them safe for the Ozone.  Evaporative cooling is a great choice for space cooling, whether it is for your home or your work place or for whatever purpose.
